We came to Alaska more than 25 years ago at the tail end of a year-long bicycle trip across North America. Originally from Central Minnesota, we had no trouble adapting to the climate here, and love being surrounded mountains and wildlife! As artists and musicians Alaska’s beautiful scenery and encouraging community fills us with inspiration at every turn!
Candace Cahill is a silversmith, musician and writer and Tom Lux a wood, bone & ivory worker. Together we are Thomas Cahill Designs. We work closely together on most projects, feeding off each other's in-put. We also play music together, love hiking and lately have been running half marathons.
In April 2019, Candace began drafting a memoir, writing in between bench sessions and bus tours. And in early 2020, just before the pandemic shut the world down, we relocated to central Alaska. We now live near the entrance to Denali Park.
